OUR STORY
Nuestra historia
My name is Jaime Vilches, a Sevillian in love with the sea and classic boats; sailor and dinghy sailing teacher since I was very young.
I became a merchant sailor by profession, and I had the opportunity to sail in historical replicas. This experience led me to appreciate the beauty of classic vessels.
The Llaut came into my life revealing to me that my true path does not lie in merchant ships or large yachts and sailing ships, but in the simplicity and beauty of these Mediterranean vessels.
This project arose from the illusion of recovering a Balearic tradition that has gradually been lost, especially in Ibiza.
Its size and ease of handling make it the perfect boat for reaching the most inaccessible beaches, discovering the coast of Ibiza and paying homage to its traditions and its people of the sea.
Soy Jaime Vilches, sevillano enamorado del mar y las embarcaciones clásicas. Regatista y profesor de vela ligera desde muy joven.
Me hice marino mercante de profesión, y tuve la oportunidad de navegar en dos réplicas históricas. Esta experiencia me llevó a valorar la belleza de las embarcaciones clásicas.
Los Llaut entraron en mi vida revelándome que mi verdadero camino no está en los mercantes o grandes yates y veleros, si no en la sencillez y belleza de estas embarcaciones mediterráneas.
Este proyecto surgió por la ilusión de recuperar una tradición Balear que poco a poco se ha ido perdiendo, sobre todo en Ibiza.
Sus dimensiones y su fácil manejo lo convierten en la embarcación perfecta para acercarse a las playas más inaccesibles, descubriendo la costa de Ibiza rindiendo homenaje a sus tradiciones y a sus gentes del mar.
